I was stuck. It gave me restless nights, so it was time to throw my plan B into the trashcan and get started on my first plan. I didn’t dare to come up with another anime/asian story and wanted to prove something.That I do love more than what lies other side of the world. But I needed a subject that was close to my heart. So I rewrote my story and with the lack of time that I created I began today on the new stuff I need for tomorrow. I got pretty far. But still too little to satisfy my teacher, for sure. It’s about the moon goddess Usagi. She’s lonely, decides to visit the earth. She arrives in front of a large gate, a torii. When she goes through she transforms to her appearance she holds in the day light which is a rabbit. She meets a dragon who warns her for humans who are ignorant for heavenly people. She discovers a house and finds a boy sitting on the porch while night falls. A fox noticed her presence and tries to eat her but fails. The boy wants to help the wounded rabbit and goes after her. He finds her between the bamboo forest and sees her true form in the moonlight. well, I guess you know how it ends.

New Book
In deep shit
I’m absolutely trapped. I have no outways. I’m stuck. I’m frustrated. I’m stressed. I’m going insane. We’re working on illustrating a book. It can me any kind of book as long it’s filled with your drawings. I decided to make one based on my book from childhood. It’s about a girl who is teased because she wears an eyepatch. When she runs away from school she comes across an real pirate and goes on adventure. The thing is, I can’t make my main character look NOT anime like. I should be around being half done with it but I only have a tiny portion of the entire work. I’m freaking out. I can’t make it work. This assignment is so important and I cut myself off at such a critical point.
The first image are all sketches I’ve made so far. The last one is not made by me. I drew over a photograph. The man is my dad, the girl is my niece. NO credit, just a filthy and ordinary fake drawing. I’m running out of ideas. I don’t trust my drawing skills.
Hello Kitty ‘Toy’
Wow, I’ve been so lazy for so many weeks!!! Didn’t even posted my Christmas cards that I made last year. But I did work hard for school. Things didn’t worked out as I planned. Presentation went horribly wrong and now I have a task to fulfill before I can call the first semester officially finished. But so far so good. One out of three assignments is finished and was well received by the teacher. So I can say not to self confident that I’m on the right track. The reason why I am posting today is because I was so happy with my results during class that I wanted to share the drawing. We had to draw toys more than life size with colors. I love colors especially when they mix well. So since I didn’t know we had to bring toys I decided my hello kitty strap was qualified enough to be a toy so I took her as my model. And these are the results! I can always do better but the process of making was a lot of fun so for now I’m satisfied.

Profession orientation is the most fun class. Studying exactly what I came for. Today we had to draw a Santa of this time period. Apparently Santa hasn’t been updated for eighty years. A few things I drew. A Santa kid and a christmas tree dressed lady. Also drawings of the previous lesson. Death at home, and childs food. (just for the record, the teacher said non of the drawings were good enough, just like everybody else work)
Monkey see, monkey do
Yesterday me and my boyfriend went to the Zoo in Amsterdam. I had so much fun! At the end of the day we were both really exhausted from a long day of walking and traveling. Today I decided to work on some drawings. I drew a Alice in Wonderland kind of girl but kind of ruined it with the black lines so I moved on to something else. Working hard on a drawing in adobe but I’ll continue tomorrow or should I say later today (nearly one o’clock in the morning right now)? It’s getting late and my eyes are getting tired. While I was away, staying over at my boyfriend’s place I drew a few things in my dummy. I guess people will think she is a goth or something like that but to me she is a punkish girl with a cool set of headphones. She is slim, short, fragile but has a strong will since she is driven by music that rocks her world. I also drew a geisha-like female. Not too much detail. Just a few touches here and there.
Well, I’ll be off to dreamland!!
Concubines and Books
Yesterday I’ve finished my 600 paged book in less than a week (I bought it last week on a Wednesday) . I really enjoyed every page and I’m a bit sad the story ended even though it was a very happy ending and there wasn’t more to tell. It was about a concubine’s life in the 1800. She wasn’t just any concubine, she was the last of her kind. Her world at the palace collapsed as the Japanese country was taken by a revolutionary storm and war broke out between the north and south. The book revolves around her, trying to stay alive in those hard times.
Besides reading I made a small drawing on the same page as the dragon from my previous post. I worked the last 4-3 hours trying to get it colored in adobe. It was fun. Noticing hat I made progress with using my keyboard and tablet made it even more fun. It isn’t as flawless as my previous attempts though I’m quit satisfied with the look and the way it turned out.
Passing Time
Last night I had trouble sleeping and decided to draw a bit and this dragon was the end product. I had fun with lining the black lines and giving it certain depths. I’m planning to make more drawings in this style.
Wicked witch
Ladies and gentlemen meet my sister-in-law!! Yes ain’t she pretty. To make things clearly she is dressed in a short dress with tights underneath (these things do happen in real life, Today). It’s a bit short but that’s because she doesn’t acknowledge her true size and buys her clothes one to two sizes smaller. According to her own words it isn’t her fault that she is so … big. It’s because she gave birth twice and she gained a lot of weight during pregnancy. But I do in fact know the true story since I’ve seen her eat O.o it makes you wonder if you’re next. The witch hat is made from an expensive burberry stripe. Which matches her expensive diamonds and necklace from another fancy brand. Also her perfume is worth a small fortune but that’s hard to draw and express. The wand she holds is yet cute, yet extremely evil. So to answer your question; Yes I do dislike my sister-in-law for many, many reasons. I won’t say hate, hate is such a strong word.
(I surprised myself. I made this drawing in an hour. sketch and lines. I haven’t had such a short drawing in a while and it makes me so happy!!)
Colormix
I decided to visit Harold on Thursday which was yesterday. I bought 8 copics; 4 colors, 2 of each color.
So after visiting the store I had a new dilemma when I got home. I had no clue why I bought the colors, they just looked pretty and appealing. So I tried to choose one or two colors. So after few a few hours coloring I ended up with this (see scan). I’m not done yet. In fact I’m stuck. I want to give the background some more texture but I don’t know what kind of textures will work. Anyway it’s getting late and writing seems to crack my brain since I’m having trouble with expressing myself in (english) words.
