Venetian Mask
Steampunk mask 3
Steampunk mask part 2
Last Wednesday I continued on the steampunk mask while listening at least 20 times to DBSK’s survivor.
It took me 4 hours in total to finish it. In between I had to wait several times for the paint to dry. Instead of mixing colors before painting I mixed them while painting which keeps both colors visible but also creates the 3rd color. I added some more clock parts and added some gold ‘writings’ on both sides. After painting I added two ‘metal’ parts next to the eyes. Those decorations are earring that I didn’t use anymore. The earrings were shaped into a loop so I made them flat with a hammer (without hitting my fingers, job well done!). When I was done with gluing the parts on the mask I felt I wasn’t done yet. I came up with the idea of making a clock hand on the nose. Under the hand I made a roman six to make sure the gold hand doesn’t become a random decoration to fill the empty space. I don’t think I’m done yet either but I need to get supplies to continue. Maybe some shiny stones, feathers and glitter paint will do the trick.
(Planning on applying soon for an intake… I’m nervous)
Steampunk
Í think I’m half-done with the first mask. I covered the black layer of the mask with copper paintbrush and a silver one for the spots. After adding several layers with the paintbrushes I started painting with acryl. I’m planning to glue some fake iron parts on the mask to give it a more steampunkish feel.
